Happy New year

I have been terrible about posting my reviews and book related stuff this last year. So this year, 2021, I promise to keep this updated and bring you guys all kinds of good book posts!

First off I’ll start with my first book review of the year. I was sent an ARC (advanced readers copy) of the book Second Chances by Alice Reed in exchange for my honest review. So here goes!

This story brings us Liam and Emelia who were I believe HS sweethearts. As they got older they drifted apart and went their separate ways. Although Liam never truly ”got over” Emelia. Jump forward several years and they are both actors. Emelia is definitely more famous and can’t seem to keep herself out of trouble. Liam is struggling and taking any role he can get. Fate brings them back together at a movie premiere party only to have Emelia humiliated by a let’s say scandalous photo. Liam comes to her rescue and sparks are rekindled. Emelias manager is trying to get her image back and is signed for a role on TV. Liam auditions for a role on the same TV show. Of course, it’s predictable and Liam gets the part. Things escalate between the two and romance runs wild.

You get the idea right? I did feel the story was predicable and I couldn’t stand the mother, the best friend and Liams manager. Good thing Liam and Emelia were the perfect couple. While I wouldn’t say this was a five star read, it was fun and pretty fast paced. It is the first book in the series so I’ll probably read the others because I have to know what happens!
